Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

What is hippotherapy?

Hippotherapy is a specialized treatment strategy where licensed physical, occupational, or speech therapists use a horse's rhythmic and multi-dimensional movement to help improve a patient's balance, posture, and mobility

How long are your sessions

Treatments last approximately 30 minutes. When mounted, there are approximately 3,000 facilitative steps made by the horse, providing a multitude of sensory input that improves the ability for speech and language productiosn to occur.

Do you have to ride horses?

No! Mounted therapy is just a small portion. This is NOT a horse riding lesson. We are using the horses as a tool to assist in your communication goals. We do offer equine assisted learning, which includes therapeutic horse riding.

How can you use a horse for speech therapy?

Using horses is very beneficial during speech therapy. We are able to build the trunk muscles for better breath support, the rhythmic motion helps to build neural pathways for motor production, and it provides engagement and motivation!

Through the use of the horse, we are able to provide a variety of sensory input, which is part of the foundation for speech, language, and communication productions.

How do you provide speech therapy at home?

We are most comfortable in our own environment, making learning easier. We provide speech and language services through assisting in making small changes in your daily routine to help meet your speech, language, and feeding goals.

Do you provide Birth to Three Services?

Yes, I do provide Birth to Three Services in the state of WV.

My child no longer receives WV Birth to Three Services, can we still receive speech therapy?

Yes, speech, language, and feeding services can be provided in your home to continue to help you meet your goals. This can be part of your transition plan discussed with your ongoing service coordinator (OSC).

Do you provide therapy services in the community?

Yes! A wonderful place to receive speech therapy is in the library, a building rich with a variety language! We also provide therapy services outdoors in park settings. The more sensory input we can provide for the child, the more we are able to assist in development of communication and language.

We pride ourselves on our adaptability and commitment to excellence in every aspect of our speech, language, and feeding services. Explore what we have to offer and how we can contribute to your success.
